Common questions asked about FUE hair restoration:

What areas of the body can hair be transplanted?
Any place that hair has been lost can be grafted. Commonly, the scalp is grafted for male and female hair loss. Also surgical scars (from previous strip hair transplants or head injuries/surgery), eyebrows, and male beards.
Can hair be harvested from places other than the scalp?
The best hair match for the head is from the scalp. However with NeoGraft, body hair can be a source of additional hair for density (within the previously grafted areas) or for regions like eyebrows. Certainly, back, chest, and sometimes pubic hair can be used as "filler" hair for the head.
Is the procedure painful?
NeoGraft is performed in the office with local anesthesia. The only discomfort is during the early moments of the procedure while your head is injected with local anesthesia. You will be given oral medications to help with this. Afterwards, the procedure is not uncomfortable.
Why should I have a Plastic Surgeon do a hair transplant procedure for me?
Hair transplantation is a reconstructive surgery. Most providers for hair transplant procedures are not surgeons. Plastic Surgeons are experienced with all types of facial aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. NeoGraft FUE is the definitive procedure for reconstructing all types of hair loss including baldness, loss of eyebrows, sparse beards, and post surgical scarring.
Can women have hair transplants?
Women lose hair commonly from hormonal imbalance (estrogen/progesterone/testosterone, thyroid), vitamin deficiencies, and hair care products. Women also lose hair after using extensions, braids, dreadlocks. Once the source of balding has been identified, women can them be candidates for hair transplantation. Neograft FUE is the best way to restore a women's hairloss with a scar or significant recovery time.
What about surgical scars?
Scalp scars can originate from facial trauma, cranial surgery, or from previous hair transplants (with a traditional strip method). Scars can sometimes be revised with excision. With Neograft, the scars can be reduced by removing a portion of the scar (allowing it to shrink) and grafting hair into the remaining scar.
